ETHICS OF WAR
Shane
(book)
Ethics in war is possibly a contradiction because during war you do things you normally would not do, but these things are the things that keep you alive. So what are ethics their person’s morals a code of conduct that a person makes internally and lives buy? Or as defined in the dictionary the rules of conduct recognized in respect to a particular class of human actions or a particular group, culture, no matter how you define this word every one has ethics even if they don’t realize it. Author Charles Henderson expressed ethics during war in his true story called marine sniper. This book about Carlos Hathcock a marine sniper in the Vietnam war faces trouble excepting the things he has 2 do because of the war and how it goes against his ethics. Although Gunnery Sergeant Hathcock dose not always agree with the things he must do he still holds the record today for most confirmed kills at 93. War is a horrible place where death and fear surrounds each individual that is found on a battlefield.

(this shows the balance of good and bad in the battle of ethics)
Ethics morally is a self-judgment of what is right and wrong. A person ethics are reflected on what they feel is the right way of living. In a simpler sense a battle of good verses evil people help other people because it’s the right thing to do well on the other hand others will steal not because its right or wrong but because there ethics are different than others where others would have a guilty conscious they do not.

War use to have a set of rules like chess, better known as the Ethics of war. As times changed so did war now there are no real rules it’s a blood bath there are no wait till you see the white in his eyes till you shoot its pull the trigger and unleash hell on earth. To be a soldier use to be a form of honor in the middle ages a mans job, now Countries use children as what I would like to call little weapons so when you ask what are the ethics of war there are none its simply survival of the fittest.
Joe Narosky once said in war there are no unwounded soldiers. Manny soldiers die in war or are physically wounded but those of the soldiers that come home in perfect health still have wounds. This is known as post dramatic war stress syndrome it’s caused from the violent things soldiers is forced to see in war. The soldiers are effected buy these things because they did things that went against there morals and ethics during the war.

You may only get one chance
To do what you think is right
For every thing you do today
You’ll think about tonight

The poem talks about how every thing you do will sit on your conscious. This shows that when you do some thing that goes against your ethics it could really bother you.

song lyrics
American Terrorist lyrics
http://www.elyrics.net/read/l/lupe-fiasco-lyrics/american-terrorist-lyrics.html

Close your mind
close your eyes
see with your heart
how do you forgive the murderer of your father?
the ink of a scholar is worth a thousand times more than the blood of a martyr

we came through the storm nooses on our necks
and a smallpox blanket to keep us warm
on a 747 on the pentagon lawn
wake up the alarm clock is connected to a bomb
anthrax lab on a w. virginia farm
shorty aint learned to walk already heavily armed
civilians and little children is especially harmed
camoflouged torahs, bibles and glorious qurans
the books that take you to heaven and let you meet the Lord there
have become misinterpreted, reasons for warfare
we read em with blind eyes i guarantee u there's more there
the rich must be blind b/c they didnt see the poor there
need to open up a park, just close 10 schools
we dont need em
can u please call the fire department they're down here marchin for freedom
burn down their TV's, turn their TV's on to teach em

[CHORUS]

now the poor klu klux man c that we're all brothers not b/c things are the same b/c we lack the same
color that's green, now that's mean
cant burn his cross cause he cant afford the gasoline
now if a muslim woman strapped with a bomb on a bus
with the seconds running give you the jitters?
just imagine a American-based christian orginization planning to poison water supplies to bring the
second-coming quicker
nigga they aint livin properly
break em off a little democracy
turn their whole culture to a mockery
give em coca-cola for their property
give em gum, give em guns, get em young, giv em fun
if they aint givin it up, then they aint gettin none and dont giv em all naw ,man, just give em some its
the paper, then these cops must be al-qaeda

[CHORUS (2X)]

It's like
don't give the black man food, give red man liquor
red man fool, black man nigga
give yellow man tool, make him railroad builda
also give him pan, make him pull gold from river give black man crack, glocks to teens, give red man
craps, slot machines...

This song shows the horrible things that are done during war. The song relates to religion and how each religion has its book of worship. Each book of worship has a set of laws or rules you could call them these lay down a foundation for ethics.

ETHICS AND WAR
The military is a hard place 2 lives the men and women who fight for our country are brave and heroic. Their ethics are altered every time they see combat or a friend fall but they still wake up in the morning and do what they have to do for our freedom. (General Polar) once said the greatest monuments aren’t made out of marble and gold but a soldiers gun dug in the dirt with a helmet arrest on top in some far away foghorn land.

Heather-
Ethics in war can be known as controversy issues usually held in discussion, sometimes arguments. Some people know ethics as the "Good V.S. Bad," choosing the right thing to do. In this situation, ethics in war hold a set of morals in what many people believe, and disagree. According to the dictionary, ethics can be known as that branch of philosophy dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions. One bad ethic for people in war are their working conditions. Many soldiers like Ishmael Beah in the book "A Long Way Gone" suffer with no food, no personal hygiene. Ishmael at such a young age was captured into fighting and there is no rewards.

This book tells memories of a young soldier, Ishmeal Beah. Ishmael's story of war is different than most soldiers. Ishmael and 5 other close friends and family were stolen from "rebels" into war. At the age of 12 until 15, Ishmael was learning how to survive.

(PG.70) Ishmael had once said "I feel like every time I accept death, part of me dies, soon I will completely die, and all that will be left is my empty body walking with you. It will be quieter than I am." Ishmeal believes he shouldn't be there,

It always seems as though Ishmal was always counting on hope. "Is there any future for me beyond bushes?" is something Beah had also said. This proves how horrible his experience is, and how lucky he was to eventually leave. It's bad that Ishmeal was trained to believe "My gun was my provider and protector, and my rule was to kill or be killed" (PG.126) which in fact Ishmael had said himself. Although is was very wrong for Ishmael to be in war, He stayed extremely strong at all times, with love of family at home in use of "keeping going"

Luckily, Ishmael recieved help. UNICEF is a rehab where Ishmael was allowed to forgive and forget. Ishmael was tortured in constant pain and emotional distress that no child should ever have to go through. Unfourtunatly, many people underestimate the terror that people face in war, let alone a young growing child. Many people now believe that children are not needed to fight at war. Well, it wasn't Ishmaels desion to become addicted to the force of anger. Ethiclly, UNICEF helped Ishmael remeber what a kid is supposed to live like.

Songs:

This song has morals for feelings. The author of "Hold Out Your Hand," (Nickelback) puts himself in a place where a soldier would be, Nickelback gives helpful understanding advice. A message that Nickelback tries to prove to his listeners that clearly, war is wrong, but if you're going to fight at war, do what need to do, and come home peacefully. Nickelback had once said, "hard work will set you free." This song also shows ethics of individualism. Nickelback clearly states that no soldier should ever let emotions and feeling fall on other men fighting, you're not there to make friends. "Worry about yourself" (Once said by Nickelback) is a message that can relate to Ishmael Beah in the book "A Long Way Gone," perhaps while Ishmael searches upon his own food, holds a gun, and looses his family.

Ethics
You may only get one chance
To do what you think is right
For every thing you do today
You’ll think about tonight

Poem by Ansul Lusna
Ethics usually have something to do with debation in thought. When Ansual sayd "you'll think about it tonight," she's right. Any person who knows in their heart they're doing something wrong will never drop the situation, or never stop thinking about it. You know inside what you did was very right, or very wrong. A person lives and hopes to do right and become succuessful, that is why ethics of a person are so important.

This young man looks in debation, should I fight, or be a kid. This is the morals soldiers must deal with everyday, good v.s bad. This young boy knows fighting and war at his age is wrong, however he has to do everything he can to recieve gifts of life. Intangable resourced such as freedom, peace, happiness, seeing his family, be able to eat right again, and enjoy life the way he should are considered gifts of life.

Ethics of war change people. Being around people of certains beliefs can also change a persons opinion. When people think of war, they tend to get easily mad and upset, especially if that person had once fought themselves in a particular war. According to Angela on About.com, it can make people very angry, easily and just bad tempered. (This is for soldiers that fought in the war.)
War is such a controversy issue, that while it is being discussed, people tend to change their mood. The morals of war are never talked about, they're always too "touchy" of a subject. Therefore, people must start realizing all the "wrong's and right's" of war, and hellping support our troops.
